5 Songs (and Lyrics) By the Smiths That Describe Exactly How I Feel Today

Speaking of last goodbyes, yesterday I said one to someone I really care about. Now today (Friday, the 3rd) is looking a lot like a Smiths day. (Bye bye, Soundgarden -- for now.) Morrissey always did know exactly how to express all of my feelings of personal and romantic angst. He gets it like that.

Today's partial must-listen-to Smiths playlist:

"I Know It's Over" "And you even spoke to me, and said, 'If you're so funny, then why are you on your own tonight? And if you're so clever, then why are you on your own tonight? If you're so very entertaining, then why are you on your own tonight? If you're so very good-looking, why do you sleep alone tonight?"

"I Started Something I Couldn't Finish" "I forced you to a zone, and you were clearly never meant to go."

"You've Got Everything Now" "I've seen you smile, but I've never heard you laugh."

"Handsome Devil" "A boy in the bush is worth two in the hand. I think I could help you get through your exams."

"Well I Wonder" "Please keep me in mind. Please keep me in mind."
